OUR PLATFORM TO JUMPSTART THE ECONOMY

The US economy is experiencing a major slowdown --- one that seems to accelerate daily. Americans’ own attitudes about the economy become self-fulfilling, and so we hoped to help Americans believe that we are able to influence our own destiny. The Atlas Solution helped us believe that we can impact our future. The sponsor, The Shops at Atlas Park, is part of the shopping center industry, and they took the first step and are challenged their industry to do the same: to inject saved cash directly into consumer’s hands along with encouragement to spend. If we all stopped investing and hoarded our dollars, the economy would worsen. Fear breeds more fear. If, however, we all take a step forward together, things will get better, sooner. Confidence and optimism about our economic future breed confidence and optimism.

We at The Shops at Atlas Park in Queens, New York did our part by giving away $20,000 in cash between President’s Day and the day in the spring that the federal economic stimulus checks were mailed. It is our sincere belief that this helped lead to increased consumer confidence and spending in Queens, NY and in turn has improved the economy.
